A Little About Lacey

Lacey is our first born daughter she is 9 1/2. Let me just tell you how happy I was when I found out we were expecting her! Growing up all I wanted to be was a mommy! When I was little and we would go shopping it never failed I quietly slipped away from my mom to go look at the baby clothes!
Lacey also pulled the disappearing act on us at Dillard's. When she was about 4 I too experienced the panic that makes you want to vomit. Little turkey, had she not had a balloon tied to her wrist I am not sure we would have ever found her! She was tucked away nicely in a beautiful dresser that had a spot to hang baby clothes from! Thankfully her balloon got stuck on the outside of it and as I passed it screaming
her name(I am sure in a horribly loud panic voice)I heard her giggle! I am sure I gave my mom a few grey hairs as Lacey has me! All I wanted was a girl with green
eyes and sure enough I got my wish. I did decide I would be a little more specific when "ordering" the next one and I would ask if I could please get a baby that liked to sleep! She is a happy girl most of the time, when she is not being the typical drama queen all girls can be, let me say she does have this down to a science! She loved doing dance and Gymnastics when we lived in Driggs, I have yet to find anything in town that she likes and is accommodating to a working mother though, so
if you know of anything let me know! She is a very thoughtful girl and is always in tune to how I am feeling. She is always ready to share a hug if I need one. She makes friends really easy. We were headed to Meeker to see my Grandma one year and Lacey was so excited. We got to Salt Lake and I think this must have been her first time seeing the city when she was old enough to remember, it was night time so all the signs and buildings were lit up. She got this funny little look on her face of pure delight she said "WOW just think of all the friends I could have here!" Too cute! When she is feeling a little shy we try and remind her of this story and how she was ready to take on all of Salt Lake! Lacey is doing so great at school, which I have to give most of the credit to Miss Dani for giving her the gift of loving to learn! Miss Dani is an amazing woman I will have to make a post just for her one day! Lacey is defiantly just like me when I was her age. Some of the things she does I remember doing and saying and feeling. I find it hard sometimes to have patience with her because we are so alike, if that makes any sense at all. I struggle daily being the best mom I can be for her and go to bed each night with a new vow to get it right tomorrow! It's a good thing she forgives me my faults and loves me despite them. I can't imagine my life with out her! Thanks for being my best big girl! I love you Lacey Lou!

  1. OH how I love this girl. The best gift I was ever given was the opportunity to watch her for you when she was a baby. She is my "other" daughter for sure.
